Hanakapi`ai

Abe Kowitz is a local photographer that transfers his photographs onto Kauai grown wood. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind pairing between the photograph and the unique piece of wood he chooses for it. Although photographs may be used more than one time, no two pieces are the same due to the characteristics, tone, and texture of the wood he uses.
We recommend treating these photo transfers like you would a cheese board or nice furniture. Periodically oil the piece with a conditioning oil, such as Howard's Feed and Wax. Apply directly to the artwork with a soft cloth.
