"Hanalei Dreamin'" is a photograph by Abe Kowitz transferred onto Kauai Koa wood. The wood features a curly grain and was grown on a private Koa farm in Princeville, Kauai. The photograph itself is sunset in Hanalei, with a nice pink/warm coloration.
This piece measures approximately 7"H on the left and 10" high on the right. It is 15.5" long.
Abe Kowitz is a local photographer and wood worker that transfers photographs onto Kauai grown wood. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind pairing between the photograph and the unique piece of wood he chooses for it. Although photographs may be used more than one time, no two pieces are the same due to the characteristics, tone, and texture of the wood he uses.
We recommend treating these photo transfers like you would a cheese board or nice furniture. Periodically oil the piece with a conditioning oil, such as Howard's Feed and Wax. Apply directly to the artwork with a soft cloth.
